The Expedition Camper was developed by long distance motorcycle riders for long distance motorcycle riders. It pulls easily behind your bike and is the perfect alternative to expensive motels or hard, rocky ground. We used our 30 years of extensive experience manufacturing custom boat canvas, awnings, and SnoCaps to create the perfect pull behind camper. The Campers tub is made from .100 alum. sheet and The basement is made from .125 alum. sheet. Both are laser cut and then formed and welded into shape. it is then sanded out and sand-blasted to give the powder coat the best possible surface to adhere too. We powder coat our campers because it is the most durable finish to put on them.
The fabric is a 9 oz fire retardant RV fabric, thats right no thin cheap tent fabric on this trailer. The screen is a standard black screen or you can opt for the gray no-see-um screen. The zippers are a premium YKK # 10 zipper and the entire camper is sewn with drip-stop thread. The Expedition camper comes with a 46" x 72" mattress. It is 3" thick and made of two separate density foams for maximum support and softness. you can also get a memory foam top on the mattress. The mattress even folds and zips into its own attached bag with your bedding in it for added convenience as well as to save space.
We only use the best fabric and parts for our campers we have tested them all over the US and Canada on 14 significant trips over 3 years, one camper was even put behind a truck and ran down the worst roads we could find, and bounced over curbs for 2000 miles, it survived this torture test with nothing more then a few scratches from rocks on the gravel roads.
We sent 3 campers to the Arctic Circle on a 34 day real world test in July of 2010. They left from Montrose, MN and proceeded to head north to the Yukon Territories across Canada and Alaska and made the Arctic Circle in 10 days. For the next 15 days they toured around Alaska with out one break down. Over half the days it rained and the tents performed perfectly with no leaks and it proved it was easy and quick to set up in the real world.
